چکیده

The cloud of Linked Open Data is steadily growing, yet it remains largely inaccessible to the general public, due to the technical barrier posed by the requirement to know a formal query language such as SPARQL. In this article, we present a new approach for visual query formulation toward arbitrary SPARQL endpoints, and we show a working prototype developed to improve the accessibility to Linked Open Data sources for non-computer experts. We show how the prototype can be employed to simplify access to governmental Linked Open Data with a case study from the Norwegian Entity Registry.

Towards Supporting Exploratory Search over the Arabic Web Content: The Case of ArabXplore

Due to the huge amount of data published on the Web, the Web search process has become more difficult, and it is sometimes hard to get the expected results, especially when the users are less certain about their information needs. Several efforts have been proposed to support exploratory search on the web by using query expansion, faceted search, or supplementary information extracted from exte...

Developing a BIM-based Spatial Ontology for Semantic Querying of 3D Property Information

With the growing dominance of complex and multi-level urban structures, current cadastral systems, which are often developed based on 2D representations, are not capable of providing unambiguous spatial information about urban properties. Therefore, the concept of 3D cadastre is proposed to support 3D digital representation of land and properties and facilitate the communication of legal owners...

Benefits of Publishing the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate’s FactPages as Linked Open Data∗

This paper presents the benefits from publishing the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate’s FactPages, a public and popular, freely available dataset, into semantically annotated and query enabled five star linked open data. We discuss and illustrate the added value of publishing open datasets on the Web using web standards, semantic web technologies and best practices— contrasted to the lesser suit...

Query Architecture Expansion in Web Using Fuzzy Multi Domain Ontology

Due to the increasing web, there are many challenges to establish a general framework for data mining and retrieving structured data from the Web. Creating an ontology is a step towards solving this problem. The ontology raises the main entity and the concept of any data in data mining. In this paper, we tried to propose a method for applying the "meaning" of the search system, But the problem ...

Sematch: Semantic Entity Search from Knowledge Graph

As an increasing amount of the knowledge graph is published as Linked Open Data, semantic entity search is required to develop new applications. However, the use of structured query languages such as SPARQL is challenging for non-skilled users who need to master the query language as well as acquiring knowledge of the underlying ontology of Linked Data knowledge bases. In this article, we propo...
